Power Pose Project
Beginning in October 2017, I was asked to collaborate with Pittsburgh photographer, Shauna Miller, on a project she had an idea for. Based on Amy Cuddy's TedTalk on women deriving confidence through their power pose, Miller decided to photograph 100 women of various expressions in their interpretation of their own. Along with several other women, I worked with Miller on developing a gallery show and fundraiser for Pittsburgh Action Against Rape in an effort to promote female empowerment.
Our gallery opening reception was on April 6, 2018, in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, in Bloomfield/Garfield's arts district on their first Friday Unblurred event. Through this, we were able to raise over $1,000 for PAAR and promote awareness on sexual violence women, femme, queer, nonbinary, and transgender people face.
